Why is the scent not as strong as some other candles?
The wax used is an all-natural soy wax that is paraffin-free. Paraffin-based candles make up most of the candles in the market today. Santos Candles believes in being as sustainable as possible. When it comes to scent throw, paraffin wax is indeed stronger due to its petroleum-based DNA. Paraffin wax is less dense in nature and this allows the burning process to release fragrance oils instantly. Because soy wax is much denser, it requires more heat and time to burn, resulting in a longer wait time for the fragrance oil to release its scent and fully develop. As the wax melts, the flame’s heat will vaporize the liquid wax and will then diffuse the oil. The fully developed fragrance will be present within 45 minutes of lighting.

After burning my candle and the wax solidifies, why does the wax turn bumpy and pitted?
The rough/pitted texture you see on the surface of the wax after it has fully cooled down is common with all-natural soy candles. You did not do anything wrong. It is just a sign that the candle is 100% paraffin-free and made with natural ingredients! This does not affect the performance of the candle.

I can see air pockets where the candle wax is separating from the glass jar. Is this a defect in the candle?
This separated glass adhesion is common in all candles. This is when the wax pulls away from the glass due to temperature changes, which can occur during the storage phase or during shipping transit. This does not affect the performance of the candle nor is it a defect.
